Thank you for covering Baghdad with 24-7 prayer this Ramadan! We’re excited to see God’s Kingdom grow in this city.
Adil & Hay Jamaa
Majda* grew up in the mixed Sunni and Shia neighborhood of Amil, living a comfortable life until the US invasion in 2003 and subsequent Iraq war between Sunni and Shia. She and her family are Sunni and she remembers needing to move to Hay Jamaa where she now lives while in her last exams in high school. Majda talked about studying for her biology final exam while people were killing each other on the streets and bodies were strewn in her neighborhood. Her brother had to flee to Syria for a time simply because he has a Sunni name and anyone with that name at that time was immediately killed. Majda works full-time, attends the gym regularly, and is hoping to get married later on this year.
Pray for: Pray for Majda and everyone like her – that their hearts would be soft to the Good News. Pray that the Lord would be the banner over this city. Pray that His goodness would be proclaimed and not trauma or hate.
