Thank you for covering Baghdad with 24-7 prayer this Ramadan! We’re excited to see God’s Kingdom grow in this city.
Ghazaliya
Ghazaliya was built in the Mid-1980s and is a working-class neighborhood of about 100,000 residents consisting of mainly Sunni Muslims, with some Shia and Christians. The area is situated around six major streets that all end at farms that formerly belonged to Saddam Hussein’s son. The area was home to many military officers during Saddam Hussein’s rule. Saddam hid here during the first Gulf War and his hiding place was turned into one of the largest mosques in Baghdad (named “Um Al-Maarik,” meaning “Mother of all Battles”).
Pray for: Pray that the Lord of Hosts would be known in this neighborhood. Pray also that the Lord would bring more workers from the Global South and close-culture countries to Baghdad to reach this city. Pray that there would be open doors for them to gain residency and live here.

Characteristic of God: The Lord of Hosts
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge.” Psalm 46:10-11
