Thank you for covering Baghdad with 24-7 prayer this Ramadan! We’re excited to see God’s Kingdom grow in this city.
Baghdad Airport
The Baghdad airport is the largest airport in Iraq and the primary entry/exit to the city of Baghdad. Formerly, the airport’s name was Saddam International Airport, but in April 2003, US-led Coalition forces invaded Iraq and changed the airport’s name to Baghdad International Airport. Civilian control of the airport was returned to the Iraqi Government in 2004. A separate enclave houses the Iraqi Air Force’s 23rd Squadron. The air base at the airport is periodically a target of attack. On 3 January 2020, a US drone strike killed a prominent leader of Iran’s Quds Force, as his convoy left the airport on Baghdad Airport Road. To this day, his death is commemorated and the repercussions perpetuate tension.
Pray for: All the immigrants that are flooding into Baghdad in recent years. Chinese, Syrian, Ukrainian, Russian, Nigerian, Iranian refugees or immigrants are working here and some are believers. Pray that they would also pray for the peace of the city and introduce Iraqis and friends to the Ancient of Days.

Characteristic of God: Ancient of Days
“As I looked, “thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.” Daniel 7:9-10a
