Thank you for covering Baghdad with 24-7 prayer this Ramadan! We’re excited to see God’s Kingdom grow in this city.
Yarmouk
Yarmouk is a middle-class bustling neighborhood just south of Monsour and west of the Tigris. It hosts a large Burn hospital that also teaches residents and medical students. A famous part of Yarmouk is the area called Four Streets which boasts multiple coffee shops, cafes, gyms, restaurants and upscale grocery stores. There are certain neighborhoods within Yarmouk that are mixed Sunnia and Shia and have remained mixed for the past 50+ years. When in other areas of Baghdad, Sunni and Shia neighbors were fighting each other, residents of Yarmouk defended each other despite their religious differences.
Pray for: There are less than 10 foreign workers living in the entire city of Baghdad at the moment. Visas and access for non-western nations cause a huge barrier for more workers to be able to come. Please pray for open doors for more workers to come from all areas of the world to reach the city and encourage the local believers!
